Miami had a record setting year under first year head coach Jai Lucas. The Canes had the best turnaround season in school history, returning to the NCAA National Tournament with a 26-9 record. However, coach Lucas and his staff are again looking at another major rebuilding year. Three seniors graduated and seven underclassmen have entered the transfer portal. Miami has signed 5-star forward Caleb Gaskins. This means the staff must find seven quality replacements to finish building the roster for next season.

Here are the key recruiting targets currently at the top of Miami’s board.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Point Guard:
Miami will need to replace Tre Donaldson at point guard.  Look for the Canes to sign at least one point guard from the portal or high school ranks.

Acaden Lewis (Villanova transfer) COMMITTED!

Hometown:  Washington, DC

School:  Sidwell Friends School

HT: 6'-2" | WT:  180 |  Offers: -- |  Rating: 95 |  Pos. Rank: 1 CG  |  Overall Rank: 120

Status:  COMMITTED   |  Top Tier:  MIAMI commit (4/14/26)

OV:  4/11-12/26         UOV:

Summary: A dynamic scorer and play-maker, Lewis was among the top freshmen last season. Named to both the All-Big East Freshmen Team and the All-Big East Second Team. In 2025-26, averaging 12.2 points, 5.3 assists, 3.0 rebounds, and two steals in 30.5 minutes per game. Extremely talented with the ball in his hands.  There isn’t much Lewis can’t do. Demonstrated good floor vision and delivery, finishing in the top three in the EYBL in assists. He’s a threat coming off screens, both on and off the ball. While still a bit lean and raw defensively, he has an excellent ceiling.

Guard: (combo or scoring)

Miami will return Dante Allen and Marcus Allen at shooting/combo guard. Look for the Canes to sign one or two combo/shooting guards from the portal or high school ranks.

SG Quincy Wadley (2026 uncommitted)

Hometown:  Chandler, AZ

School:  Compass Prep

HT: 6'-4" | WT: 185  |  Offers: 13  |  Rating: 98 |  Pos. Rank:  6  |  Overall Rank: 45

Status:  UNCOMMITTED   |  Top Tier:  California, BYU

OV:           UOV:

Summary:  Adam Finkelstein - Director of Scouting - Wadley is a long and smooth scoring guard with a microwave type ability to put points on the board in bunches once he gets hot. He can be a tough shot-maker off the dribble and from behind the arc. He’s crafty going through the lane, athletic in open space, and able to dunk with both hands... Physically, he has good positional size and length, but needs to get stronger and improve his ability to play through contact. He’s a good perimeter rebounder (6.4 per game) and has a similarly good nose for the ball defensively (2.1 steals), but needs to be more physical and disciplined with his approach in order to fully maximize all his physical tools on that end of the floor. Durability is also a key factor for Wadley. He’s missed a lot of time in recent seasons wih lower body injuries and just needs more game reps in order to help turn his glaring potential into more consistent production."

CG Dylan Mingo

Hometown: Glen Head, NY

School: Long Island Lutheran

CG/SF Juke Harris (Wake Forest transfer)

Hometown: Salisbury, NC

School:  Salisbury

HT: 6'-7" | WT: 200  |  Offers:  |  Rating: 97 |  Pos. Rank: 1 |  Overall Rank: 7

Status:  UNCOMMITTED   |  Top Tier:

OV:           UOV:

Summary: A big wing after breakout sophomore season. A offensive playmaker, averaged 21 PPG, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1.3 steals. Shot 33% from 3-pt range.

ALSO: : Anthony Robinson II (Missouri), Bryce Lindsey (Villanova), Tyler Hendricks (Utah Valley), Koree Cotton (UTRGV)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Power Forward:
Miami will need to replace Malik Reneau at power forward.  The Canes have signed a 5-star power forward (Caleb Gaskins) and will look for another experienced and productive big man in the portal.

Caleb Gaskins
Hometown: Miami, FL      School:  Columbus
HT: 6'-8"    |   WT: 219    |   Offers: 15     Rating: 99    |   Position Rank: 3  |  Overall Rank: 13

PF/C DeSean Goode (Robert Morris transfer)

Hometown: Fork Union, VA

School:  Fork Union

HT: 6'-8" | WT: 230  |  Offers:  |  Rating:  92 |  Pos. Rank: 18 |  Overall Rank: 70

Status: COMMITTED   |  Top Tier: Miami commit

OV:           UOV:

Summary: (247Sports - Adam Finkelstein - Director of Scouting) The Horizon League Player of the Year as a sophomore, Goode averaged 15.2 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 1.4 assists for a Robert Morris team that went 22-11. At 6-foot-8 and 230 pounds, Goode was a model of efficiency shooting 62.9% from the floor and 57.1% from three, on just under 2 attempts per game. His offensive rebounding numbers were also in the outlier territory with 3.2 per game. Put it all together and Goode is an analytic darling who many of the algorhythms love because of his combination of efficiency and production, especially in areas where there often isn't a correlation (like three-point shooting and offensive rebounding). He's always been a mismatch threat who could make open, spot-up threes, but also bring smaller defenders into the post. He can also move fairly well laterally for his size.
