Canes WIN! Advance!

Miami defeated Boston College, 8-2, in the third round of the ACC Baseball Tournament on Thursday.

The Canes now advance to the semi-final round to take on No. 3 Georgia Tech (46-9). 

Miami (38-17) brought their bats on Thursday. The Canes collected 15 base hits, including two-run homers from Alex Sosa and Fabio Peralta. Gabriel Milano, Vance Sheahan and Dylan Dubovik also each drove in a run. The offensive outburst even saw Jake Ogden slide head-first safely into home on a wild pitch.

Meanwhile, on the mound, Miami stater Lazaro Collera (4-3) earned his first win since April 4. Collera went five innings, gave up two runs on three hits while striking out four and walking three. The bullpen of Nick Robert, Jack Durso, Packy Bradley-Cooney and Lyndon Glidewell each tossed a scoreless inning in relief to close out the win.

Miami will now face #3 Georgia Tech on Saturday in the semi-finals. First pitch is set for 1:00 p.m. ET with coverage on ACCN.
