Miami got off to a fast start with a dominating 45-6 victory over Stanford on the road. They come home this Thursday to host Florida A&M (1-1) at the Rock.

This article will break down the Rattlers on both offense and defense. Let’s get started.

OFFENSE:

FAMU (1-1, 1-1 MEAC) has split two games so far this season, winning their opener over Albany State, 20 -7, then lost to South Carolina State, 31-13, on Sunday.

For the season, FAMU’s offense is averaging 16.5 points per game after scoring 13 points against South Carolina State this weekend. The Rattlers are averaging 180.5 yards of total offense per game. The split is heavily weighed to their passing game that’s averaging 176 passing yards per game but only 34.5 yards per game on the ground.

In their game against the Bulldogs, the Rattlers generated only 161 yards of total offense. with QBs Isaiah Knows and Dustin combining for 162 passing yards, going 13-30 on passing attempts while the Rattlers were registering negative rushing yards. Kieren Jackson was FAMU’s primary passing threat, catching 4 passes for 69 yards.

DEFENSE:

FAMU’s defense has not fared well, giving up 479 yards of total offense to the Bulldogs on Sunday. The Rattlers yielded 292 rushing yards and 187 passing yards. Not much else you can say about this defense.

BOTTOM LINE:

Florida A&M is an FCS team and not a very good one at that. We expect Miami to easily take care of business on Thursday. The only question is how long will Mario Cristobal keep his starters in the game?
