Miami took care of business Saturday night at Clemson, dominating the Tigers, 41-13 in Death Valley.
As is our tradition after a victory, CaneReports, honors Canes who performed at the highest levels and impacted Miami’s win.
Here are Canes who earned a “GAME BALL” for their efforts in victory.
DT Ahmad Moten:
Ahmad is a real warrior. Despite getting banged up early in the game, he returned to action and constantly disrupted Clemson offense. He totaled two tackles and tallied a half of a sack while generating three pressures with no missed tackles. For his efforts, head earned an overall PFF grade of 85.4. and a 90.0 rushing grade.
DB JJ Dunnigan:
True freshman JJ Dunnigan continued to make an impact on defense. From the nickel back position, he earned a PFF coverage grade and did not miss a tackle. To top off his performance, JJ sealed the game for the Canes with a pick-six 39 yard interception.
RB Mark Fletcher:
Mark displayed his tenacity and leadership in the victory. After a slow start, he kept pounding the rock, finishing with 77 yards and two crucial touchdown runs while averaging 4.8 yards a run and 2.81 yards after contact. In pass protection, Mark earned a PFF overall grade of 81.7 and a 82.2 pass blocking grade.
LB Chase Smith:
Chase was a wrecking ball against Clemson, registering six tackles with one tackle for a loss, earning him a 91.4 run defense grade from PFF. He also generated one quarterback pressure while working a career high 53 snaps.
EDG Damon Wilson:
Damon had his best game as a Cane. In 56 snaps, he constantly disrupted Clemson’s passing attack with 2.5 sacks and 11 quarterback pressures, earning him a 79.5 pass rushing grade and a 76.7 overall PFF grade.
WR Cooper Barkate:
Cooper quickly broke the Tigers’ back with a team leading five receptions for 98 yards, including a 61-yard touchdown on the second Miami offense play from scrimmage. His performance earned him a 72.0 overall grade.
OC Ryan Rodriguez:
Miamis senior center led the offensive line, earning an 83.0 pass blocking PFF grade and a 70.6 run blocking grade in 66 snaps. Ryan did not allow a pressure or a sack.
BOTTOM LINE:
Our Canes were physical, disruptive and explosive in victory. Congratulations to ALL our Canes! You made us proud.
