Miami survived its game against Wake Forest, 33-20, despite a rash of injuries that required significant adjustments during the victory. The Canes have already lost their two starting cornerbacks, OJ Frederique and Xavier Lucas, as well as cornerback Ja’Boree Antonine.

Let’s review the latest injuries…

RB CharMar Brown: In probably the most serious injury, running back CharMar Brown sustained a lower extremity injury , suspected to be a ACL. If so, Marty could be out for the season.

WR Malachi Toney: Malachi played sparingly at Wake with what appears an upper body injury. He should be able to go this week, but we will monitor and report on his status.

DT Ahmad Moten: Ahmad was injured in the first half of the game but returned in the second half to bolster Miami’s defensive line. We expect him to be ready for the game this week.

BOTTOM LINE:

Miami is banged up after the game and must maneuver around a few serious injuries to OJ Frederique, Xavier Lucas, Ja’Boree Antonine and most likely CharMar Brown. The Canes need to get healthy before entering conference play.

GO CANES!
