Our #6 Miami Hurricanes (4-0, 2-0 ACC) will travel to Clemson, S.C. on Saturday night to take on the Clemson Tigers (3-1, 2-0 ACC) .

Miami is coming off a dominate 52-3 victory over FCS Central Michigan. The Tigers are coming home after a 24-10 victory over Cal. Miami was able to play more than 50 players in an effort to maneuver an outbreak of injuries while getting competitive snaps for many young players at the same time.

This week Miami travels to Death Valley to play a rebounding Clemson team after a disastrous opening defeat to LSU. The Tigers have won three straight games since opening night and now stand in second place behind the Canes in the ACC.

Here are our three KEYS to the Game against the Tigers.

KEY: STOP the RUN…

Clemson has struggled offensively this season. They are starting inexperienced freshman quarterback Tait Reynolds. He’s a dual-threat who is capable of scrambling to move the chains. Take away his ability to run and force him into a situation where Clemson’s poor offensive line must protect the young quarterback and the Tigers are in trouble. Miami’s front seven must control the line of scrimmage and take away the run.

KEY: A Balance Attack

Clemson’s defense is their strength. But they have a few holes. The Tigers have a solid front seven, so Miami’s offense must prevent the Tigers from stacking the box like Wake tried to do. Mensah and Miami’s receivers must be patient. The Canes will have opportunities to take advantage of Clemson’s secondary. If a returning Mark Fletcher can make an early impact in the running game, Mensah can pick his spots to strike vertically.

KEY: Stay Healthy

While Miami has maneuvered the injury situation well so far, it cannot withstand additional injuries to the running backs and the secondary. It’s important that the Canes start fast offensivelyin order to give the “probable” players more time off to mend.

BOTTOM LINE:

Miami matches up very well against Clemson. Stay healthy and let the Canes' defense be a deciding factor in the game.

GO CANES!
