October 15, 2026 -
Miami (5-0, 3-0 ACC) will host arch-rival Florida State (3-3, 1-2 ACC) on Saturday night at Hard Rock Stadium.
It’s one of the best rivalries ever in the country. The ROCK will packed as the Canes attempt to stay unbeaten and the Noles try to right their sinking ship.
The purpose of this report is to breakdown FSU’s strengths and weaknesses on both side of the ball.
OFFENSE:
Florida State’s offense ranks #120 in the nation. FSU’s offense averages 409.5 yards per game. The Noles are a run-based offense at this time, highlighted by RB Ousmane Kromah who has rushed for 565 yards and 5 touchdowns and QB Ashton Daniels who has rushed for 323 yards and 10 touchdowns so far this season.
Miami’s defense ranks #5 in the nation, giving up 249.6 yards per game. The Canes defense allows only 9.8 points per game (#1 in the nation.) Miami’s defense is balanced, giving up an average of 207.0 passing yards per game and 42.6 yards on the ground (#1). The Canes’ front seven is extremely disruptive.
DEFENSE:
The Noles’ defense ranks # 122 in the country, giving up 25.3 points per game. FSU allows an average of 244.7 yards in the air and 165.5 yards per game on the ground.
Miami’s offense is ranked #5 in the nation, averaging 554.8 yards and 49.6 points per game (#1). The Canes are a pass oriented offense with a power rushing attack that wears down an opponent’s defensive line.
BOTTOM LINE:
The numbers don’t lie. Miami is matchup nightmare for Florida State. Many things must go wrong (injuries, turnovers, penalties) for the Noles to keep it close.
GO CANES!
