Miami continued its memorable school year this past week with both cheers and some tears.


Hurricanes land #4 Transfer class…

Miami welcomed twelve (12) new football transfers to the university, including QB Darian Mensah, EDG Damon Wilson, WR Cooper Barkate, S Conrad Hussey, DL Keona Davis, OL Jamal Meriweather, WR Cam Vaughn, S Omar Thorton, K Jack Olsen, DL Jarquez Carter, WR Vandrevius Jacobs, K Jake Weinberg. The Canes’ transfer class ranked #4 in the nation, according to 247Sports.


Championship Game draws 30.1 million viewers

The national championship game between Miami and Indiana drew 30.1 million television viewers. The game was the second most-watched CFP playoff title game ever, including 33.2M at its peak. I guess Miami does draw a crowd.


Miami beats Stanford, 79-70…

The Canes continued their breakout season on the hard court with a 79-70 win over Stanford. The victory boosted their record to (17-4, 6-2 ACC).


2025 All-ACC Academic Football Team…

Fourteen University of Miami football student-athletes earned selection to the 2025 All-ACC Academic Football Team, as announced by the Atlantic Coast Conference. The All-ACC Academic Football Team recognizes student-athletes who achieve distinction in the classroom while contributing to their teams on the field.


Honors went to Booker Adam, LS – Mechanical Engineering, Seuseu Alofaituli, OL – Sociology and Criminology (Double Major), Alex Bauman, TE – Finance, Markell Bell, OL – American Studies (Two-time honoree), Armondo Blount Jr., DL – Psychology (Two-time honoree), Carter Davis, K – American Studie, Dylan Day, DB – Africana Studies, Mark Fletcher Jr., RB – Sport Administration (Three-time honoree), OJ Frederique Jr., DB – Exploratory Arts & Sciences (Two-time honoree), Dylan Joyce, P – Sport Administration (Three-time honoree), Tommy Kinsler, OL – Sociology and Criminology (Double Major), Francis Mauigoa, OL – Communication Electronic Media (Three-time honoree), Jadais Richard, DB – Sociology and Criminology (Double Major) (Two-time honoree), Daylyn Upshaw, WR – Exploratory Arts & Sciences.


Ernest Udeh Jr. named to Naismith Defensive Player of the Year Watch List

Miami center Ernest Udeh Jr. was named to the Naismith Men’s College Defensive Player of the Year Watch List. Ernest has been an integral part of Miami’s 17-4 start to the season, averaging 10.0 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game. He tops the ACC and is ninth nationally with 7.1 defensive rebounds per game and leads the country in defensive rebounding percentage at 31.4 percent.


Rueben Bain wins the Ted Hendricks Award

Miami defensive lineman Rueben Bain Jr. has been named the 2025 recipient of the Ted Hendricks Award, presented annually to the nation’s top defensive end. Bain is the first Miami Hurricanes player to earn the award, which honors excellence at the defensive end position and is named after Hall of Famer and University of Miami alumnus Ted Hendricks. Rueben completed an incredible 2025-26 season in which he appeared in all 16 games, making 54 total tackles, including 30 solo stops, while adding 15.5 tackles for loss and 9.5 sacks. He also recorded one interception, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and two pass breakups, helping the Hurricanes win a program record 13 games.


2025 CSC Academic All-America Football Team

Four University of Miami football student-athletes earned recognition on the 2025 CSC Academic All-America Football Teams, as announced by College Sports Communicators. The CSC Academic All-America program honors student-athletes who excel both academically and athletically. Nominees must be at least sophomores academically, maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50, and be significant contributors to their teams. Canes honored were…


Offensive lineman James Brockermeyer was named to the Division I First Team after posting a 4.00 grade point average while majoring in exploratory arts and sciences. Brockermeyer was one of 25 student-athletes nationally selected to the First Team.


Defensive lineman Akheem Mesidor also earned Division I First Team honors. A graduate student majoring in liberal studies, Mesidor recorded a 3.71 GPA and joined Brockermeyer among the nation’s top academic performers.


Running back Mark Fletcher received Second Team Academic All-America recognition. Fletcher, a junior majoring in sport administration, maintained a 3.53 GPA during the 2025 season.


Offensive lineman Markel Bell rounded out Miami’s honorees with a Second Team selection. Bell posted a 3.78 GPA as a senior majoring in American studies.

Canes lose nail-bitter to Cal, 86-85

Miami (17-5, 6-3 ACC) couldn’t hold a 74-63 lead and lost to California, 86-85, on Saturday night despite 24 points from Malik Reneau and 16 points from true freshman Shelton Henderson.


2026 Football Schedule announced…

The University of Miami football program announced its 2026 schedule on Monday, featuring a 12-game slate highlighted by a mix of non-conference match ups and ACC competition.
