Every season is a new season in college football since the emergence of NIL and the transfer portal.
This series breakdown, by position, the talent and potential of each group. Today, we examine Miami's wide receiver room.
Overview:
Miami had a lot of production to replace this cycle in the wide receiver room. Head coach Mario Cristobal and WR coach Kevin Beard did just that between outstanding talent acquisition at both the high school and transfer portal. Miami prefers to carry between 8-10 wide receivers on the roster.
Returning Lettermen:
Miami returns three wide receivers, Joshua Moore, Malachi Toney and Daylyn Upshaw from the 2025 squad.
Incoming Transfers:
As stated above, Miami needed to replace substantial production with proven talent and production. The Canes welcomed Cooper Barkate (Duke), Cam Vaughn (West Virginia) and Vandrevius Jacobs (South Carolina).
Incoming Freshmen:
Miami welcomed freshmen wide receivers Somourian Wingo, Milan Parris, Vance Spafford and Tyran Evans.
Top Recruiting Prospects:
The coaching staff is always looking to the future, stashing blue chip talent. Miami is looking to take 2-3 wide receivers in their 2027 class.
The Canes have started strong with the verbal commitment of the #3 wide receiver prospects in the 2027 recruiting class, Nick Lennear (Opa Locka, FL - Carol City). Other blue chip targets include Tre Moore, Monshun Sales, Jaden Upshaw*, among others.
BOTTOM LINE:
Miami is projected to have one of the best wide receiver rooms in the country in 2026. And the future looks very bright as the Canes begin their quest to return to another championship run.
