WEEK 6: Upsets Galore!

Oct. 11, 2026 - At the halfway point in the 2026 football season, college football experienced a multitude of upsets this weekend that will impact conference standings and the national rankings.
It’s what makes college football so great. Fans love it. Let’s review the weekend’s upset action.
The #1 Texas Longhorns were upset by their arch-rivals, the Oklahoma Sooners, 27-24 in the annual Red River Shootout.
The Kentucky Wildcats upset the #10 LSU Tigers, 35-34. The loss is the second for LSU.
The #21 UCLA Bruins upset the #13 Oregon Ducks, 17-15. The surprising Bruins are undefeated at 5-0 for the season.
The #16 Florida Gators were pummeled by the South Carolina Gamecocks, 38-19. The Gators are in a free fall.
The #25 Pitt Panthers were upset by the North Carolina Tar Heels, 21-17. Could Bill Belichick’s squad be finally turning the corner?
In addition to the six upsets in the Top 25, the #7 Indiana Hoosiers had to come from behind to beat the Nebraska Cornhiskers, 20-17.
After a weekend of upsets and close game, the national rankings will look very different later on Sunday.
The #4 Miami Hurricanes (5-0, 3-0 ACC) return to action next Saturday when they host arch-rival Florida State Seminoles (3-3, 1-2 ACC) at Hard Rock Stadium.
