Miami fans are still celebrating their upset victory over the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on Sunday, 27-24.


As a result of the victory, we have seen a tidal wave of media coverage shift this week . Here’s a rundown of the national and local media channels narrative after the Canes dominated the Irish.


AP Top 25:

Miami zoomed up the rankings from #10 to #5.


ABC-TV:

The Notre Dame-Miami game went down as the second-most-watched Sunday college football game ever, drawing 10.8 million people with a peak audience of 11.8 million.


Heisman Trophy:

Miami quarterback Carson Beck now has now has the third-best odds to win the Heisman Trophy, according to FanDuel. Beck led the Canes to a dramatic upset of then #6 Notre Dame on Sunday at Hard Rock Stadium.


ACC:

The conference awarded junior DE Rueben Bain Jr. the ACC Defensive Lineman of the Week on Tuesday following his impact performance in the Hurricanes’ 27-24 victory over then-ranked No. 6 Notre Dame. Bain finished with six tackles, 0.5 sacks and a decisive fourth-quarter interception that was secured off a deflected pass, setting up a Miami field goal that extended the Canes’ lead to 24-14 early in the fourth quarter.


Davey O’Brien Foundation:

Miami quarterback Carson Beck was recognized Tuesday by the Davey O’Brien Foundation as one of the Great 8 quarterbacks of the week after guiding the Hurricanes to a victory over Notre Dame.

CJ Daniels’ spectacular one-handed touchdown grab earned Daniels’ the No. 1 spot on SportsCenter’s Top 10 plays this week.


BOTTOM LINE:

Going into the Notre Dame game, most “media experts” favored the Irish to crush Miami. Oh, how that media narrative has changed.
