Canes fall, 8-7, to Boston College
No. 24 Miami couldn’t hold the lead in the 9th inning and went on to lose, 8-7, to Boston College on Friday night. Miami led 5-0 after two innings but Cane’s pitching couldn’t hold down the Eagles. No. 22 Miami traveled to Dallas on Wednesday night to take on SMU in the last regular-season road game. The Canes came away with a 77-69 victory, clinching the 3-seed in next week’s ACC Tournament. Canes drop first game as Gators surge late, 7-2
No. 10 Florida rallied with five runs in the eighth inning to defeat No. 17 Miami in the first game of a three-game weekend series on Friday night at Light Field. The Gators got solid pitching to keep Miami’s bats in check most of the game game. The Canes threatened in the fifth with two hits to begin the inning, but the runners were stranded. Miami finally broke through in the sixth inning as Derek Williams and Brylan West each drove in a run for the Canes to tie the game.
