The Brendan Sorsby drama is over! Or is it?
The embattled Texas Tech quarterback announced he has officially applied to enter the NFL's supplemental draft. After weeks of rhetoric, threats and law suits, this young man said "ENOUGH!".
Brendan will close the book on his college career and move on to the next chapter in his life.
Or will he?
Addiction...
For those who have experienced addiction your their family, you know his fight with gambling has only begun. He will have to take on that demon while trying to re-establish trust on multiple levels. Personal, professional and public. Addiction can destroy the family, a career and the family. I wish Brendan nothing but the best, but he needs to commit to conquering his gambling addition first.
The Vultures...
In the meantime, there are quite of few people and institutions need to be ashamed of their self-interest actions. They have shown themselves as blood thirsty vultures, only interested in protecting their financial investment in a quarterback, but not the human being. They demonstrated their selfish motives. In all this shameful behavior, there was absolutely no mention of helping this young man with his addiction. Just how they were going to protect their on-field quarterback investment or prevent this young quarterback from hurting THEIR team in 2026.
Line up, you know who you are.
BOTTOM LINE:
State politicians, local judges, conferences, schools, and the NCAA. All of you should be ashamed. None of you reached out to get this young man the treatment he needs to overcome this evil addiction.
You all should be ashamed.
I wish Brendan nothing but the best in his fight for freedom. At least he now knows who his true friends are.
GO Brendan!
GO CANES!
