Canes beat Creighton, 9-4

Miami’s bats came alive in the seventh inning to beat Creighton, 9-4, on Friday night at Alex Rodriguez Stadium.


The Canes were led by Daniel Cuvet and Derek Williams. Cuvet hit two home runs and Williams drove in four runs in the victory.


With the score tied at 4-4 and the bases loaded in the seventh inning, Cuvet walked to take the lead and begin the 5-run outburst for Miami. Alex Sosa, who contributed two doubles in the game, then walked in a run. Williams then sealed the game with a base clearing double.


Miami’s bullpen slammed the door shut on Creighton (9-9) with two two shutout innings in the eighth and ninth innings to end the game.


Miami (16-6) and Creighton continue the three-game series on Saturday.. First pitch is set for 6:00 p.m. ET with coverage on ACCNX.
