Miami was in position to take another ACC series but couldn’t hold the lead late, losing to NC State, 12-7, in the final game of the series in Raleigh on Saturday night. It was Miami’s first series loss since mid-March. With a 7-5 lead going into the seventh inning, Miami (33-14, 13-11 ACC) gave up seven runs over the last two innings to seal the game for the Wolfpack. Miami starter AJ Ciscar went 6 1/3 innings, giving up six runs (3 earned) on 10 hits. The bullpen then gave up six runs down over the last two innings, including a gran slam in the eighth inning. At the plate, the Canes were led by Max Gavin with four hits, including a tie-breaking two-run doubloon the sixth for the lead. Brylan West rove in two runs. Gabriel Milano and Fabio Peralta each knocked in a run. Miami attempted a rally in the ninth inning, loading the bases with no outs but couldn’t plate a run.
