Miami beat the Wisconsin Badgers at the finish line when former Louisville commit Karsten Busch signed with the Canes on Wednesday afternoon..
At 6’3”/223, Karsten is rated 89, ranked the #33 LB and the #438 overall prospect in the nation, according to the 247Sports Composite.

Karsten chose Miami over Wisconsin and Louisville among his 20 scholarship offers. He will arrive in Coral Gables this summer due to school regulations.
Andrew Ivins, 247Sports director of scouting filed the following evaluation last month.
Brawny inside linebacker that uses his power and vision to collect stops behind and around the line of scrimmage. Looks the part with a frame that’s believed to already be carrying 230 pounds as he’s broad in the chest and thick through the trunk. Constantly seeks contact as he’s quick to stack and shuck blocks with his periscope. Strikes like a hammer when he meets a ball carrier in the hole, firing through the lower half before working to finish. Flashes impressive change-of-direction efficiency relative to size as he can turn in tight quarters with his bend and burst. Fluid in space, but better charging forward than he is gaining depth in reverse. Projects as more of a two-down thumper, but should be able to offer some third-down value on the blitz as he’s already active with his hands. Should be viewed as a physically-advanced box defender that can shoot gaps and help negate rushing attacks.
Welcome to the U, Karsten! Welcome to the family!
GO CANES!
