CFP Rankings… “definitively easy choice”

November 4, 2026 -

The initial College Football Playoff rankings were released on Tuesday.

The committee ranked the Miami Hurricanes No. 1 in this week’s rankings. It is the first time Miami has been ranked No.1 in the CFP rankings.

“I think Miami was a definitively easy choice, but that may have been the easiest decision that the committee had to make,” said CFP selection committee chair Hunter Yurachek.

Miami was followed by Georgia, Utah, Indiana and Alabama in the top five. Kentucky, Texas, UCLA, BYU, Ole Miss, Notre Dame and Ohio State round out the top 12.

No. 1 Miami heads to South Bend on Saturday to take on No. 11 Notre Dame.

Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET with coverage on NBC and WQAM-560.
