Miami is back on the recruiting trail and red hot with many elite 2027 prospects headed to Coral Gables during the spring for a visit.


Our new series will focus on NEW blue-chip prospects who Miami has offered a scholarship and plans to take a visit to campus this spring and early summer.


Today, we are spotlighting quarterback Israel Abrams.


Background:

Israel is from Arlington Heights, Illinois where he attends Montini Catholic High School. Miami offered him this week.


Attributes:

Israel is an elite 2027 quarterback prospect. He has a powerful arm and a rapid release. He has displayed good touch, anticipation and works through his progressions quickly. He has excellent pocket presence with good mobility to move the chains with his legs. He is also threat in RPO schemes.


Rating & Ranking:

At 6’-4” and 187 pounds, Israel is rated 97 by the 247Sports Composite. He ranks as the No. 5 quarterback and the No. 61 overall prospect in the 2027 recruiting class.


Production:

Israel’s production has been off the charts. In 2025, he passed for 4,072 yards, throwing 40 TD, with only 6 INT. His accuracy is excellent at a 68.5% completion rate. When he used his legs to drive DCs to drinking, he rushed for 224 yards (2.7 YPC) and 10 more touchdowns.


Competition:

At this time, it appears Purdue, Auburn, FSU, and Kentucky are his leaders. The next milestone for the Canes will be getting Israel on campus this spring. CaneReports will monitor and report any new developments with Israel.
