Our Miami Hurricanes completed their third fall practice on Friday. The Canes wore shoulder pads for the first time in fall camp. Physicality amped up as a result.
Today felt like a bounce back day for both the offensive line and the wide receivers.
Miami’s receivers were impressive today, especially TE Elija Lofton. His leaned down frame ,makes him much faster and quick. Eliah is going to be a handful for opposing safeties this season.
TE Izzy Briggs is true freshman but he’s turning heads in camp. He made both as an line blocker and as a pass catcher today. And he’s put on mass over the winter. The future looks bright for him on Greentree.
On the offensive line, OT Jaden Wilkerson stood out today. At 6’-7’/315, Jaden is seriously competing for a starting job at either offensive tackle this season.
While on the offensive line, the young bucks are an imposing sight. Jackson Cantwell, Ben Congdon, Joel Ervin, Jaden Wilkerson, Rhys Woodrow, and Max Buchanan are going to massive in the years ahead.
On defense, CB OJ Frederique continues to shine in camp. he leads a talented and depend backend defense. Another true freshman, safety JJ Dunnigan is pushing for an early impact in 2026. After some seasoning, JJ is going to be a force down the line. In the meantime, his mentor Zechariah Poyser is a beast and a leader on the backside.
That’s it for today.
GO CANES!
