KEYS to the Game: Bethune-Cookman

After dominating then #6 Notre Dame, 27-24, on Sunday, Miami will host FCS Bethune-Cookman on Saturday night.

While most “media experts” expect Miami to crush the Wildcats. This game presents a number of opportunities for the Canes.

We believe there are four keys to a Miami victory.

Don’t Read Your Press Clippings:

It’s very clear Miami outmans BCU both physically and talent wise. An upset will only occur IF the Canes lose focus of their jobs and begin believing all the praise heaped on them this week. Take care of your business.

Play To Your Strength:

It was obvious to a national audience that Miami dominated Notre Dame physically. A key will be the Canes’ play in both trenches. If Miami’s offensive and defensive lines again dominate, then Miami will win.

Build Your Depth:

If Miami takes care of the business above, then backup players will have the opportunity to get valuable game experience. This will pay benefits later in the season.

Stay Healthy:

The college football season is long and grueling. Injuries can derail the best of programs. A key today is take care of business and minimize the chances of injuries.

BOTTOM LINE:

Miami should win this game easily if we don’t lose focus on our jobs. The best case scenario would be for the Canes to dominate again on the line of scrimmage and then give our backups valuable reps that will pay dividends down the line.
