Miami salvaged the series and season final on Saturday, beating #11 Florida State, 7-4, in Tallahassee.

The game started off with a pitchers dual between FSU’s Bryson Moore (6-2) and Miami’s AJ Ciscar (5-3.) Ciscar threw seven innings, giving up one run on six hits while striking out four and walking one. Moore went 7 2/3 innings, giving up two runs.

Miami trailed 1-0 in the seventh inning when the Canes bats finally came alive. Gabriel Milano hit the go-ahead two-run home run. Derek Williams and Alex Sosa added back-to-back home runs in the eighth inning to go up 4-1. The Noles tried to rallied in the bottom of the eighth and closed the gap to 4-3. However, Miami slammed the door in the top of the ninth when Dylan Dubovik led off with a base hit, advanced on a sacrifice by Brandon DeGoti and scored on a single by Vance Sheahan for a 5-3 lead. A successful double steal scored Sheahan and Jake Ogden knocked in Fabio Peralta for a 7-3 lead.

The bullpen took over in the eight inning. Miami close Lyndon Glidewell got the final five outs for his fifth save of the season

Miami (36-17, 16-14 ACC) heads to the ACC Tournament as the fifth-seed with a bye, while Florida State (38-16, 19-11 ACC) earned the three-seed with a double bye.

The ACC Tournament play starts for the Canes in the second round as the 5-seed on Wednesday (1:00 p.m., ACCNX) against the winner of 12-seed TBD and 13-seed California.
