thePOLL Report - Miami Still #1

November 1, 2026 -

It was a scary night in Chapel Hill but Miami survived and beat the North Carolina Tar Heels, 38-35. The Canes remained undefeated. On Sunday, the national voters didn’t flinch as Miami maintained the No. 1 ranking in the country.

However, seven other teams in the Top 25 lost on Saturday. But all the attention is now focused on Miami’s performance in a winning effort? That comes with being Top Dog. It’s life.

All three polls still have the Canes at No. 1, followed by Georgia at #2. The AP and Coaches Polls have Indiana at No.3. The People’s Poll has Utah at No. 3. The Utes are #4, with Kentucky at #4 in the Peoples Poll. UCLA rounds out at #5 in all three polls. The ACC has three teams in the Top 25- Miami (#1), Wake Forest (#14) and SMU (#24) in the AP Poll.
