Miami runs away from FIU, 98-81

After a see-saw first half, Miami ran away from Florida International 98-81 on Tuesday night at the Watsco Center.


Miami (10-2) and FIU were tied at 43 going into halftime but the Canes came out of the break to outscore FIU (5-4) 55-38 in the second half.


Miami was led by true freshman small forward Shelton Henderson with a career-high 30 points. Senior power forward Malik Reneau added 22 points while point guard Tre Donaldson posted a double-double with 10 points and 12 assists. Tru Washington contributed 13 points and Ernest Udeh chipped in 12 for the Canes.


Miami will host North Florida on Sunday in their final non-conference game. Tip-off is set for 4:00 p.m., with coverage on ACCN.
