MIAMI UPSETS NOTRE DAME , 27- 24

It was the seventh straight loss for the Irish in Miami. The Canes haven’t loss to Notre Dame at home since 1997.
It came down to transfer place kicker Carter Davis kicking a 47-yard field goal with 1:04 left on the clock to put the Canes in the lead for good.
Miami finished with 324 total offense yards. Canes’ quarterback Carson Beck quieted all critics by completing 20-30 passes for 205 yards, 2 touchdowns and no interceptions. Freshman wide receiver Malachi Toney caught 6 passes for 82 yards and 1 touchdown. Senior wide receiver CJ Daniels added 5 receptions for 46 yards and 1 spectacular touchdown.
On the ground, Miami running back Mark Fletcher rushed for 66 yards, adding 8 yards receiving. Transfer running back CharMar “Marty” Brown added 54 rushing yards and 1 touchdown. The Canes out rushed the Irish, 119 to 93 yards.
On defense, Miami shutdown Notre Dame’s vaulted running attack, holding the Irish to only 93 yards on the ground. The Canes limited Jeremiyah Love to only 33 yards rushing.
BOTTOM LINE:
Miami launched its 2025 season in grand style by upsetting #6 Notre Dame in front of a loud sell-out crowd at the “Rock.”
