The NCAA FBS Oversight Committee voted Thursday to move to a January 10-day transfer window and eliminate the spring window. The Division I Administrative Committee must approve the legislative changes before Oct. 1.
The oversight committee is also proposing that all of December would become a recruiting dead period. Coaches would still be able to have contact with recruits, but would not be permitted to do on-or off-campus recruiting visits or evaluations.
The elimination of the spring window could also come under scrutiny and potential legal anti-trust challenges for restricting the transfer movement of athletes.
BOTTOM LINE:
For now, CHANGE is about to change college athletics, again.
Will it stand the test of the courts? Will chaos again reign during a tight 10-day period where thousands of players become available at the same time?
Only time will tell.
GO CANES!
