Miami currently has 18 verbal commitments to their 2027 recruiting class. It’s estimated Miami will only take 20-22 recruits in this class.

One need that still needs to be addressed is at wide receiver. Miami already has one verbal commitment from 5-star local receiver Nick Lennear. That means Miami has only one remaining scholarship spot available in this position group.

It appears Miami wants a second wide receiver to pair with Lennear. Miami has two targets on top of their board.

Eli Woodard

Hometown:  Temecula, CA                       School:   Chaparral

HT: 6'-1"  | WT:  180  |  Offers: 20  |  Rating: 92  |  Pos. Rank:  23  |  Overall Rank:178

Status:  UNCOMMITTED   |  Top Tier:  Miami, Cal, UCLA

OV: 5/29/26       UOV:  ---

Summary:

Eli Woodard is the most active target for Miami at this time. He has already made his official visit and is now deciding between Miami, Cal and UCLA. Eli is a former USC commit. He is a multi-sport athlete (track) 10.91 (2.6) in the 100-meter Eli projects at this stage as a potential multi-year starter at the Power Four level and 22.95 (1.0) in the 200-meter dash. He brings long speed and deep threat potential that can stretch defenses and flip the field with his long speed. In 2025, Eli caught 51 receptions for 1070 yds. and 17 touchdowns.

Jaden Upshaw*

Hometown:  Leesburg, GA                           School: Lee

HT: 6'-1" | WT: 200  |  Offers: 27 |  Rating: 96 |  Pos. Rank: 14 |  Overall Rank: 78

Status: COMMITTED   |  Top Tier:  Texas A&M commit

OV:  6/19-20/26         UOV: 9/20/25 (UF game)

Summary:

Jaden is a Texas A&M commit. Before he gave the Aggies his pledge, Miami was seriously considered by Jaden. He brings confidence, versatility, long speed, excellent route running, balance, power, blocking ability and yards after catch. In 2024, he made 63 receptions for 842 yds. and 11 touchdowns. In 2025, he followed up with 47 pass receptions for 902 yards and eight touchdowns. Jaden has left the door open and will make his official visit to Miami on the weekend of June 19-20th. Can Miami flip another blue chip talent?

BOTTOM LINE:

By early July, we will know who Miami pairs with Nick Lennear.
