PF Malik Reneau granted eligibility…

September 24, 2026 - Power forward Malik Reneau has been granted a preliminary injunction against the NCAA to pursue a fifth-year of eligibility. He officially returns to Miami basketball for the 2026-27 season.

Judge Kara Krothe granted a preliminary injunction on Wednesday to nearly 90 college athletes who sued for a fifth year of eligibility in Indiana's Monroe County Circuit Court. The NCAA is expected to appeal.

Malik will compete for the starting power forward position, joining former Georgia transfer center Somto Cyril, sophomore small forward Shelton Henderson, former Villanova transfer point guard Acaden Lewis and shooting guard Dante Allen to form a potentially strong nucleus. Miami is expected to compete for the ACC championship and return to the NCAA Tournament.
