The stars were out!

Miami upset Notre Dame, 27-24, in a thrilling game on Sunday night in front of 66,793 at Hard Rock Stadium, a national TV audience and an estimated 100 recruiting prospects in the stands.

The dramatic victory has given the Canes a major lift in recruiting. Major targets in both the 2026 and 2027 classes left with something to think about after Miami dominated the powerful Fighting Irish.

Among the 2026 prospects in attendance were a number of five-star targets, including EDG Anthony “Tank” Jones (Oregon commit) Texas DT commit James “JJ” Johnson, RB Derrek Cooper (Texas commit), and WR Calvin Russell (Syracuse commit). Also among the 2026 four-star targets were CB Justice Fitzpatrick (Georgia commit) and four-star DL Nolan Wilson (Alabama commit).

Representing the 2027 class in the stands were five-star LB Kaden Henderson, five-star EDG Zyron Forstall, five-star OT Mark Matthews, four-star CB Kenton Dopson (committed), four-star TE Anthony Cartwright, four-star WR Nick Lennear, four-star LB Roman Igwebuike, four-star DT Jamar Thompson, four-star OL Sean Tatum, four-star EDG DJ Jacobs, four-star WR Julius Jones and many more.

BOTTOM LINE:

Miami’s dominating win over Notre Dame opened the eyes of many elite recruiting targets in attendance. If the Canes can maintain on-field momentum, this fall could bring a ton of quality blue chip talent to Coral Gables by the end of this year.

GO CANES!
