On Tuesday evening, Miami added coveted south Florida prospect to the Class of 2027 when four-star EDGE DeMarcus DeRoche (Fort Lauderdale, FL - Cardinal Gibbons) gave his pledge to Mario Cristobal and defensive line coach Aaron Taylor.

At 6’-4”/205, DeMarcus is rated 93, ranked the #20 Edge and the #181 overall prospect in the 2027 recruiting class, according to the 247Sports Composite.

DeMarcus, is multi-sport athlete (football & basketball). In 2024, he registered 11 tackles (7 TFL), 5 sacks, 2 FR and 1 FF on defense, with 10 receptions and 165 yds on offense. He has an 83.5 inch wingspan.

DeMarcus joins Miami (Fla.) Norland Top247 defensive back Kenton Dopson, Hollywood (Fla.) McArthur Top247 safety Jaylyn Jones, and Miami (Fla.) Edison Top247 wide receiver Ah'Mari Stevens as blue-chip prospects in Miami's class. The Canes also hold a pledge from Palm Beach (Fla.) Central offensive lineman Zaquan Linton.
