The #3 quarterback in 2027 recruiting class, Israel Abrams (Arlington Heights, IL - Montini Catholic), gave his verbal commitment to head coach Mario Cristobal and offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson late Friday afternoon.

At 6’-4”/187, Israel is rated 98, ranked the #3 QB and the #44 overall prospect in the 2027 recruiting class, according to the 247Sports Composite.

Israel has 23 scholarship offers and chose Miami over Purdue, Florida State, Auburn and Kentucky.

With his commitment, Israel is keeping the recruiting pipeline open to the Chicago area, following x y z in recent Miami classes.

Israeli is an elite 2027 quarterback prospect. A power-arm QB with a rapid release. He has demonstrated good touch and route anticipation, working well through progression reads. Israel has excellent pocket mobility and presence. He also a dangerous threat in an RPO scheme. In 2025, Israel passed for 4,072 yards (68.5%), 40 TD, 6 INT while also rushing for 224 yards and 10 TDs.

Israeli is Miami’s eighth commitment to the 2027 recruiting class, now ranked #7 in the nation.
