Miami head coach Jai Lucas welcomed former Michigan combo guard L.J.Cason (Lakeland, FL - Victory Christian Academy) on Tuesday.

Cason entered the transfer portal after former Michigan head coach Dusty May accepted the head coaching position of the Dallas Mavericks.

Cason is the final player on Miami’s roster for 2026-27. He has three years of eligibility remaining.

At 6’2”/190, Cason is rated 93, ranked the #11 combo guard and the #56 overall transfer player, according to the 247Sports Composite.

In 2025-26, the Florida native was an integral part of Michigan's team, averaging 8.4 points, 2.4 assists, and 1.9 rebounds per game, while shooting 50.3 percent from the field, 40.2 percent from three-point range, and 70.9 percent from the free throw line before sustaining an ACL injury in February. He is expected to return to the court in December.
