Canes split double header with Wolfpack

Miami went on the road to Raleigh on Friday to play NC State in a double header to begin an important three game series.

This series is important for the Canes. With three regular-season ACC weekends left before the conference tournament, Miami is trying to stay in the upper tier of the conference standings for seeding purposes going into the ACC Tournament.

The Canes won the first game, 11-9, in a sew-saw shootout. Max Galvin’s grand slam in the seventh sparked the Miami win after giving up a six-run lead in the fourth.

The Wolfpack responded with a 13-6 dubbing of the Canes in the second game. NC State’s three runs in the second and seven in the fifth forces a decisive “rubber game” on Saturday.

First pitch is set for 7:00 p.m. with coverage on ESPN2 and WVUM 90.5 FM.
