Miami kicked off their baseball season with a dominate 13-2 win over Lehigh on Friday night at Light Field.
The Mountains Hawks jumped out to a 1-0 lead but Miami’s bats quickly took back the lead and never looked back. The Canes’ bats pounded out 13 hits and 13 runs against the visitors, led by Alex Sosa’s home run and four runs batted in. Max Galvin and Cian Copeland drove in three and two runs, respectively. Miami blew the game open in the eighth inning with sevens.
Miami starter, AJ Ciscar (1-0), went five innings, giving up two runs on five hits while striking out five batters.
The weekend series continues on Saturday. First pitch is set for 6:00 p.m. ET, with right-hander Lazaro Collera on the mound for Miami. Coverage will be on ACCNX.
GO CANES!
