COMMITMENT WATCH: Brysen Wright

July 5, 2026 -
It’s decision day for elite 2028 wide receiver Brysen Wright (Jacksonville, FL - Mandarin).
Brysen will announce his college destination on Thursday afternoon from among his 32 scholarship offers. It’s come down to three school, Florida, Miami and Texas. Miami is the projected favorite going into the announcement.

At 6’3.5”/215, Brysen is rated 99, ranked the #1 wide receiver and #3 overall prospect in the 2028 recruiting class, according to the 247Sports Composite.
There is a twist in Brysen’s recruitment. It’s been reported he may reclassify to the 2027 recruiting class. We are monitoring that development.
As a sophomore in 2025, the Jacksonville native caught 46 passes for 983 yards (21.9 YPC) and 10 TD while adding 55 tackles, 5 INT and 5 PBU on defense. Named the NFL FLAG Player of the Year after helping Jaguars Elite win a national championship. He’s a multi-sport athlete, playing basketball for Jacksonville Mandarin.
Andrew Ivins, Director of Scouting for 247Sports, filed this scouting report in August.
“Big aerial specialist with plenty of viral moments to his name. Believed to be north of 6-foot-3 and hovering somewhere around 210 pounds. Can manufacture space like few others in recent cycles and turn 50-50 passes into 80-20 propositions with his bounce, coordination and extension. Uses power to meet throws in traffic and by the sideline. Quick to capitalize on RAC opportunities with his vision and momentum. Consistently creates opportunities for his quarterback at all three levels, but can be more of a one-speed route runner that lacks ideal separation quickness. Showcases desired physicality on defense while doubling as a safety and can bring it as a perimeter blocker when engaged. Must buy into the process, but projects as a high-volume target on Saturdays that can be positioned around formations while hunting matchups.”
BOTTOM LINE:
Miami had done a wonderful job in this recruitment and is perfectly positioned to land this elite 5-star prospect.
GO CANES!
