Emerging Power Forward?

Miami head coach Jai Lucas has just about filled out his roster of the 2026-27 season.
The Canes still need depth in the front court at power forward. A new name to know is Robert Miller III. He is a transfer from LSU. He is a rising junior with experience in the SEC and some intriguing upside.

At 6’-10”/230, Robert progressed during his two years in Baton Rouge. A native of Texas, Robert came out of high school as a 4-star prospect.
As a freshman season in 2024-25 was productive for the Tigers. He appeared in 30 games, averaging 4.5 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 0.9 blocks in 15.7 minutes per outing. He shot 61.5 percent from the floor, 20 percent from deep, and 63.6 percent from the line.
As a sophomore, Robert took a step forward, averaging 6.1 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks per game in 19.4 minutes per contest. He shot 65.7 percent from the floor, 69.9 percent from the line.
Defensively, Robert excelled as a defender, recording a 7.9 percent block rate, while adding a 12.5 percent total rebound rate.
Overall, Robert is a forward who can provide depth, defense, and rebounding .
BOTTOM LINE:
Robert Miller could play a key role off Miami’s bench as a defense-first big man. Miami will have to fight Arkansas for his services.
