Miami keeps streak alive, defeats FIU, 10-3

Miami went on the road across town on Wednesday night and defeated Florida International (FIU), 10-3. The Canes improved to 6-0 in mid-week games this season.
The Canes were led at the plate by Derek Williams and Daniel Cuvet. Williams blasted a three-run homer, his eighth of the season. Cuvet drove in two runs with a single to break a 3-3 tie in the fifth inning and the Canes didn’t look back. Vance Sheahan, Dylan Dubovik, Fabio Peralta and Jake Ogden each drove in a run to seal the game.
Miami (15-6) collected 10 hits, going 5-9 with runners in scoring position.
On the mound, starter Sebastian Santos-Olson threw 3 1/3 innings, giving up three runs on five hits. Reliever Jake Dorn (2-0) got the win, going three scoreless innings, while striking out four Panthers.
Miami returns home on Friday to host Creighton (8-8) for a three game series starting on Friday night. First pitch is set for 7:00 p.m. ET, with coverage on ACCNX.
