Miami streak continues with 12-4 win

Miami’s mid-week winning streak (8-0) continued as the Canes blasted Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU), 12-4, on Tuesday night on Light Field at Rodriguez Stadium.

Miami (22-7, 4-5 ACC) continued to be hot at the plate, pounding out 14 hits including home runs by Derek Williams and Brylan West. Williams finished with four runs batted in. Jake Ogden contributed a perfect night at the plate with four hits.

The Canes broke the game open in the sixth inning, with five runs, sparked by an Alex Sosa two-run double. At that point, Miami led 11-3 and controlled the game.

Miami host Virginia Tech for a three game series beginning Friday night. First pitch is set for 7:00 p.m. ET, with coverage on ACCNX.
