As Miami prepares for summer official visitors, we thought it would be a good time to examine the Canes’ roster, position by position.
Today, we’ll take a look at offensive tackle.
Miami has four veteran tackles on the 2025 roster, with Markel Bell exhausting eligibility after the 2025 season. However, Francis Mauigoa may elect to leave early for the NFL after the 2025 season.
Here’s a breakdown of the Canes’ tackle room.
Francis Mauigoa
HT: 6’-6” | WT: 315 | Jr.
Francis begins his third year as Miami’s starting right guard. He is a projected first round draft choice when he decides to turn professional. That could come after the 2025 season. Until then, Francis is one of the best offensive tackles in the country.
Markel Bell

Markel Bell is also a veteran starting left tackle for the Canes. He is a massive human being with good flexibility, reach and excellent feet. Markel is also one of the best tackles in the ACC and is also expected to be a high round NFL draft choice in 2026.
Tommy Kinsler IV
HT: 6’-6” | WT: 340 | Jr.
Tommy is a big and talented, but somewhat inexperienced tackle. He’s looking for a breakout year in 2025 and could become a candidate for a starting position in 2026.
Matthew McCoy
HT: 6’-6” | WT: 315 | Jr.
Matthew is a versatile veteran and will compete with Rodriguez for the starting left guard position this fall. However, he could kick to the outside if needed.
Demetrius Campbell
HT: 6’-6” | WT: 300 | Fr.
Demetrius is a true freshman. He brings raw talent and high potential to the room. Demetrius will be acclimating to college life and to the speed of college football during 2025. He will also be working on his strength and conditioning in Miami excellent S&C program.
Jaden Wilkerson
HT: 6’-6” | WT: 330 | Fr.
Jaden is also a true freshman. He brings raw talent and high potential to the room. Jaden will be acclimating to college life and to the speed of college football during 2025. He will also be working on his strength and conditioning in Miami excellent S&C program.
BOTTOM LINE:
Miami has a very good blend of talented veterans and young tackles expected to be part of one of the best offensive tackle rooms in the ACC and the country in 2025. The future also looks very promising as the Canes continue to stack blue chip talent at the tackle position.
