Miami added another piece to their 2026-27 basketball team with the announcement of former St. Peter’s scoring guard Brent Bland transferring to Coral Gables. At 6’-3”/205, Bland is a veteran shooting guard with over 700 points in four years at Saint Peter’s. He will have to be granted another year of eligibility this upcoming season. In 2025-26, Brent averaged 13.9 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 2.0 steals in 33.2 minutes per outing for the Peacocks. Brent started all 29 games played while shooting 38.8 percent overall, 36.9 percent from beyond the arc (7.4 attempts per contest), and 78.3 percent from the line. He earned First Team ALL-MAAC honors. Brent is the 11th player on Miami’s roster joining Acaden Lewis, Shelton Henderson, Dante Allen, Caleb Gaskins, Somto Cyril, Marcus Allen, DeSean Goode, Nick Dorn, Quin Berger, and Chris Birden for the upcoming 2026-27 season.
