WELCOME to the U, Daniel Lopez!

Former Kansas pitcher Daniel Lopez, (El Paso, TX - Socorro) announced on Wednesday that he is transferring to Miami.

At 6’-1”/195, Daniel is a right-handed pitcher. In 2026, the rising sophomore posted 0-0 record with a 7.59 ERA in eight appearances as a freshman, including one start for the Jayhawks. He struck out 13 and walked nine in 10 2/3 innings.

Coming out of high school, Daniel was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the 12th round of the MLB Draft. He chose to play at Kansas.
