Miami landed the verbal commitment of defensive lineman Josh Johnson (Key West, FL - Key West) on Tuesday, the first day of spring practice.

At 6’-5”/270, Josh is rated 86, ranked the #98 defensive lineman and the #876 overall prospect in the nation, according to the 247Sports Composite.

Josh chose Miami over Florida, Wisconsin, Iowa, Nebraska, and Georgia Tech from among his 22 scholarship offers.

Josh brings a big frame with room to grow. He’s a very athletic, playing multiple sports such as baseball and soccer. He’s very versatile with an excellent motor.

Miami’s 2027 recruiting class now stands at six verbal commitments, now ranked #14 in the country and #4 in the ACC with an average ranking of 90.20.
