Miami’s success on the field this season has resulted in increased interest in the Canes on the recruiting trail.

At this time, Miami’s 2026 recruiting class has gained 22 verbal commitments, ranking the class #12 in the nation. Over the next nine weeks, Miami will make their final push to fill their remaining needs before the national signing period starts in December.

Last weekend, Mario Cristobal and his staff hosted more than 100 recruiting prospects, on-campus and at the Hard Rock Stadium for the Florida-Miami game.

Who will fill Miami’s final roster spots for 2026?

We feel there are ten realistic targets to watch in the coming weeks. We will post them in reverse order of probability.

RB Derrek Cooper

There is no debate Miami wants Cooper badly. However, he appears solid to the Long Horns.

LB Duyon Forkpa Jr.

Like Cooper, Miami wants Duyon to finish an excellent linebacker class. Unfortunately, it appears he is currently on the outside looking in at Florida, Michigan and FSU.

DT Isaiah Broughton

Isaiah is a late riser committed to UNLV. He brings run-stuff size and intriguing potential. Can the Canes flip him?

EDGE Ronelle Johnson

Miami recently offered. Coach Aaron Taylor sees plenty of upside in Ronelle. Can Miami flip him from the Hoosiers?

TE Luke Brewer

Miami feels Luke would be an ideal complementary piece to TE commit Israel Briggs. First, they have to beat out Tennessee and in-state Iowa and Iowa State.

WR Milan Parris

Milan is a four-star wide receiver who brings a size/speed combination with excellent body control. Huge catch radius (6 ft - 9 inch wingspan). As a junior, he had a 21.3 YPC average. He attended the Florida-Miami game last weekend. Flip?

DT James Johnson

Miami wants James badly to reinforce and stack the interior of the defensive line. However, he looks solid to the Long Horns.

WR Marquez Daniel

Marquez is a four-star wide receiver and a Florida commit. He visited Miam last weekend for the Florida game and came away with a scholarship offer. Given the Gators’ troubles, could Miami steal the dynamic pass catcher away? After the game, Marquez stated he wants to take an official visit to Coral Gables.

DB Justice Fitzpatrick

EDGE Anthony "Tank" Jones

Miami defensive line coach Aaron Taylor has Anthony very high on his board. Anthony attended the Florida game last weekend. Miami has given him much to think about. For the moment, he is still strong to the Ducks. Let’s see how it plays out.

WR Calvin Russell

No surprise here. Miami has long wanted the local Miami (Fla.) Northwestern five-star recruit. Then he committed to Syracuse this summer. Mario Cristobal wants Calvin badly. You know what that means. Relentless pursuit.

DT Frederic Sainteusn

A late-riser on Miami’s board, Frederic de-committed from FAU last weekend and attended the Florida-Miami game. He just started to play football (from Haiti). He has shot up recruiting boards across the country in just six months. After last weekend’s game against Florida, the Canes are in a very good position to land the 6’-3.5”/289 defensive tackle. UPDATE: Frederic Sainteus COMMITTED to Miami on Wednesday evening. WHOA!

BOTTOM LINE:

More quality prospects could emerge in the coming weeks. One thing is certain though. Miami is in a great position to finish with another top ten recruiting class in 2026. We could see 5-6 new commitments by National Signing.

GO CANES!
