Conference play for 2025 has kicked off for ACC schools. As such, we at CaneReports are kicking off a new weekly feature, ACC power rankings.

Each week during conference play we will rank the ACC schools. We take into consideration a schools' record, strength of schedule, quality wins and each team’s competitive trending.

Based on early season play, we already are seeing some separation beginning to occur. Will this trend continue or can will early disappointments be turned around by season’s end?

Our staff has forced ranked the ACC in our first official weekly Power Ranking.

  1. Georgia Tech (5-0, 2-0)

The Yellow Jackets have answered the call every week.

  1. Miami (4-0, 0-0)

The Hurricanes came roaring out of the gate with quality wins at home. Can they win on the road?

  1. Louisville (4-0, 1-0)

Are the Cardinals the real deal? So far, they look like it.

  1. Virginia (4-1, 2-0)

The Cavaliers shocked everyone with a stunning win last week over the then #8 Seminoles.

  1. California (4-1, 1-0)

The surprise team in the conference so far. Can the Bears sustain the success?

  1. Florida State (3-1, 0-1)

The Seminoles started strong but stumbled last week. Just an anomaly or the real thing. We find out this weekend.

  1. Duke (3-2, 2-0)

The Blue Devils are off to a good start. Can they survive in conference play?

  1. Syracuse (3-2, 1-1)

Like Duke, the Orange are outperforming expectations.

  1. NC State (3-2, 1-2)

Which Wolfpack team is going to show up?

  1. SMU (2-2, 0-0)

The Mustangs have gotten off to a slow start. Can they quickly get back on track?

  1. UNC (2-2, 0-0)

The Bill Belichick era has started off in shaky fashion. Can the Tar Heels find their new identity?

  1. Pitt (2-2, 0-1)

The Panthers’ non-conference play has been disappointing. Can they turn it around?

  1. Wake Forest (2-2, 0-2)

Another surprise team. Are they real? Conference play will reveal.

  1. Virginia Tech (2-3, 1-0)

Patience is not a Hokie virtue this year. They have already fired their coach.

  1. Stanford (2-3, 1-1)

The exceptions for the Cardinal were not high but they are showing improvement.

  1. Clemson (1-3, 0-2)

The biggest disappointment in all of college football. Can Dabo save his Tigers?

  1. Boston College (1-3, 0-2)

While the Eagles are more competitive, can they climb out of the cellar?

We’ll be back next Tuesday for our next power ranking of the ACC.

GO CANES!
