The College Football Playoff’s management committee met again on Wednesday to briefly discuss the NCAA’s future championship playoff format of the future.
The committee met at Big Ten headquarters. They came away again with no decision. The CFP must let ESPN know by December 1 if they want to change the format beyond 12 teams.
To make any changes to the current 12-team format, the Big Ten and SEC must agree on the format. They have control over the future format.
The CFP committee has been at an impasse over the future format. The committee is considering multiple formats, such as the current 12-team, 14-team, 16-team and even a 28-team format. The discussions include the unpopular use of automatic qualifiers.
The full CFP management committee, which includes the 10 FBS commissioners and Notre Dame athletic director Pete Bevacqua, isn't scheduled to meet again until January, which means smaller meetings behind closed doors must occur before a decision is made.
Really?
The lack of transparency continues to erode public confidence. A perfect example of management by the "Good Ole Boys."
GO CANES!
