Canes blow out Stetson, 102-61

Miami (3-0) continued its early season run with a convincing 102-61 win over Stetson (1-2) on Monday evening at the Watsco Center.
The Canes started slow and sloppy before hitting high gear midway in the first half half. From that point, Miami was in full control.
Miami was led by senior transfer forward Malik Reneau, scoring a double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds. Reneau has averaged 21.3 points to start the season, scoring at least 20 points in a three-game stretch for the first time in his career. His presence in the paint has been a key to the Canes’ early season success, outscoring the opposition 158-76 in points in the paint to start the season.
Guard Tru Washington also contributed 17 points with freshman Shelton Henderson and Tre Donaldson had each chipping in 15 points.
Miami shot 57.6 percent (38 of 66) from the floor and with 28 assists.
The Canes go on the road this Sunday to Jacksonville to face #10 Florida (1-1). Tipoff is set for y 8:30 p.m. ET, with coverage on ESPN.
