With the news of Brian Kelly’s firing at LSU, concern is already growing in Baton Rouge regarding the impact on the Tigers’ 2026 recruiting class.

Are there any LSU verbal commits that would be of interest to Miami?

While not having any direct knowledge, we feel the Canes may have interest in three current Tiger commitments.

Miami’s interest may be focused on LSU’s defensive line commitments. It’s an area of need for the Canes.

EDG DeAnthony Lafayette

Miami has been trying to “flip” DeAnthony Lafayette for some time. Could the recent development give the Canes a better opportunity to bring this talented pass rusher to Coral Gables? We think so.

DT Lamar Brown

It’s no secret Miami has been trying to bolster their interior defensive line. The Canes were on Brown earlier in the cycle. Could he re-emerge on Miami’s board? Maybe.

DE Deuce Geralds

Like Brown, Geralds was an early Miami target. Might he have renewed interest? Maybe.

BOTTOM LINE:

Miami needs to shore up their 2026 class on the defensive line. Lafayette, Geralds and Brown would be valued targets.
