Our Miami Hurricanes upset #6 Notre Dame Fighting Irish, 27-24, on Sunday evening at Hard Rock Stadium.

As has been our custom, we award “Games Balls” to Canes who made significant contributions to victory.

QB Carson Beck

Miami quarterback Carson Beck quieted his doubters Sunday night as he controlled Miami’s offense with his leadership, experience and skill at reading Notre Dame’s defense and delivering on time and on point.

PK Carter Davis

Who? Carter is now a household name in south Florida. He had icy water in his veins, hitting two field goals in the fourth quarter, including the game-winning 47-yarder with 1:04 on the clock.

Defensive Line

Miami’s defensive line won the battle in the trenches, limiting Notre Dame’s running attack to less than 100 yards, includeing limiting Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love to just 33 yards Miami’s line of Rueben Bain, David Blay, Marquise Lightfoot, Ahmad Moten, Justin Scott and Akheem Mesidor dominated the Irish on all night.

Malachi Toney

He’s no high school senior! His speed and route-running maturity set the tone early in the game and forced Notre Dame to refocus valuable resources to stop him. On the night, Malachi led Miami receivers with 6 reception for 82 yards and one touchdown.

CJ Daniels

Miami has their WR1 in CJ Daniels. His experience and maturity led Miami’s receiving corp all night. And his acrobatic touchdown catch just before the half against an excellent Irish defensive back group was the cherry on top.

Congratulations gentlemen! Job well done.

GO CANES!
