Once again, college football fans suffered another weekend of ranked losing within the  AP Top 25 Poll.

Among them were nine teams, including Miami (2), Ole Miss (5), Texas Tech (7), LSU (10), Tennessee (11), USC (20), Memphis (22), Utah (23) and Nebraska (25).

Another five ranked teams had to fight for their lives to pull out a victory over a supposed inferior team, including Texas (21), Virginia (18), Missouri (16), BYU (15) and Texas A&M (4). Granted some were against other ranked teams but you get the point.

Has parody set in to college football? Or have the polls failed fans with biased or incompetent voter evaluations? Or is the chaos being experienced the result of manufactured hype of the blue blood brands?

Probably a little of each.

In any case, the emotional roller coaster that is college football today is beginning to erode fan confidence in the game. Over time, fans may throw in the towel and push the game aside.

Let’s hope not.

Until then…

GO CANES!
