Miami (13-2) faces off with Indiana (15-0) tonight (7:30 p.m. ET) for the national championship.
After a ton of film watching, the gang at CaneReports landed on ONE key to the game, with two sub keys. Let’s do it!
KEY: Win in the trenches.
Both teams are very physical. That means the game will come down to the last man standing in the trenches.
Miami’s huge offense line must wear down Indiana’s front seven. The Canes have a sizable weight advantage but the Hoosiers bring a lot of grit and game experience. If Miami establishes their power running game, it will shorten the game to the Canes favor.
Miami’s defense line must put constant pressure on Fernando Mendoza, especially in the first half when the Canes must play short-handed in the secondary. Indiana must establish a run game to keep Miami’s pass rush from taking over the game.
BOTTOM LINE:
Miami’s lines must again win the day with physicality.
GO CANES!
