LAST MINUTE?

Miami has missed on a number of quarterback transfer targets…so far.

Today is the last day college players can enter the portal. is there a quarterback entering the portal today? Or might a committed quarterback change his mind and flip to Miami?

Two potential transfer quarterbacks might still be in the “back” market.

CJ Bailey (NC State)

CJ is from south Florida but landed at North Carolina State coming out of high school. At 6’6’/xxx, CJ entered the portal in December but decided to withdraw his name and remain with the Wolfpack. Or did he? There are serious reports that CJ has not put pen to paper yet. When asked that question earlier this week, his father replied “no comment.”

CJ would make sense for Miami. Experienced power four quarterback. Productive quarterback. In 2025, he threw for 3,105 yards (68.8%), 25 touchdowns and 9 interceptions.

IF (a big IF), CJ flips and comes to Coral Gables, Miami will immediately be back in championship talk in 2026.

Parker Navarro (Ohio University)

This one is a bit of an unknown until you watch the film and check out is production. Parker Navarro has played at a lower level of competition, but his numbers over the past two seasons is impressive. He would bring two years of starting experience. He has thrown for 5,030 yards, rushed for 2,168 yards and 60 total touchdowns (30 passing, 30 rushing). There are possible pending eligibility problems but at a minimum he would provide experienced depth to Miami’s quarterback room.

BOTTOM LINE:

Mario Cristobal never gives up. Can he pull another last minute surprise? Hold onto your hats!
